Background (Preamble):
Child and Youth Care Professionals have been working for years with vulnerable children, youth, and families in the Province of Manitoba without adequate recognition for the importance of their work as reflected either in minimum requirements for education and training for the work, or, in adequate salary compensation.
Petition:
We, the undersigned, call upon the Government of Manitoba to recognize the significant contribution that child and youth care professionals make in the lives of society's most vulnerable children, youth & families.
We, the undersigned, support the need for child and youth care professionals to possess minimum standards of training & education AND the need to receive adequate pay and benefits which recognizes the importance, and the considerable value of their work.
