YOU HAVE MY PRAYERS FOR SUCCESS IN YOUR STRUGGLE! I've worked at LOWES for almost a year and now I am finding out that lowes is taking away all the vacation time I have worked for. I was assured I would get 10 days my first year, now lowes is making a new policy stating that you have to be there 2 years to get vacation. In other words, if i am laid off right now, after a year of fateful service, I get no vacation time. If I take vacation and then get laid off or fired, I must pay lowes for the vacation time I took. lowes is not what I thought I left a good paying job for. They agreed to vacation when I was hired, but now they say too bad , we got you where we want you. I and many others are not going to take this anymore. This is totally unfair to the employees who gave lowes a great year in sales profit. We (the employees) are just so much trash to lowes. If you don't like their system you can quit and they will replace you. Its just that simple! lowes logic is stupid. We have part time people who know the store and system, begging for more hours. Instead of giving them more hours, lowes is hiring new people who are untrained and pretty much worthless for the first month or so. lowes returns policy is a joke! They take back anything the customer brings in. Most of which is used and unsellable. Yet, lowes preaches about shrink...shrink...shrink! This vacation stuff is just lowes way of showing you how little you mean to them. I have friends and realitives who used to shop at lowes. And they in turn have friends and realitives who will no longer shop at lowes. The word is out about lowes and its sweatshop mentality. There are even employees passing out hand bills at other stores telling people about what is going on with lowes. If lowes wants to be unfair, then two can play that game. Unions are what we need to help the helpless worker! Lowes is the ultimate corperate bully. With 18 million plus in profit for last year alone, it has stolen away earned vacation. This is 2 weeks pay which you earned, that poor Lowes says it wants back. The lies and stealing are only going to get worse. Its like a drug to Lowes. The more it gets away with, the more it will take! Lowes couldn't care less about customer service. It is cutting manager staff in half and shifting to untrained part time employees to run the stores. If you are afraid of Unions, then you should be terrified of organized corp. crime! There is a big movement started among Lowes employees to join the Union. I pray it comes before it too late! Lowes motto seems to be...SHOOT THE HORSES AND BURN ALL THE BRIDGES...WE WILL FIGHT TIL THE LAST DROP OF YOUR BLOOD

Thank You for your internal information about Lowe's, I will not shop there, I will stand behind working America, will you stand with me and many many others and not shop at Wal-Mart for anything, Please spread the word of those employer's who have a decent wage and decent benefits such as a paid vacations, and support those businesses only.

After one year of hard work and devotion, I was told I was being demoted to a cashier from a Sales Specialist position and the pay cut would have been great as I would be loosing commission also. I have trouble with lifting, but for one year, Lowes found a way to compensate and it worked out well. Cashiering would have greated a greater burden on me as the lifting would have been continuous all day long with no one to help. Lowes told unemployment I quit for health reasons. No unemployment.
